Picosa performs "Voices of Our Time" for NCC's Sounds of New Music Festival This Sounds of New Music program includes composers from many diverging artistic, stylistic, and cultural contexts to create an incredibly rich and eclectic experience for our audiences. These works from soloist to full ensemble draw upon inspiration from historic influences like rhetorical style of the baroque era, folk stories, and Iranian history, to the very personal experiences of love of family and statements about the violence of our current times. It is a snapshot of the lives of these composers, many of whom we know, and the opportunity to hear them speak musically about things that matter to them.
