Nikkole Huss: Mapping Earth
Oesterle Library Gallery, North Central College
August 27, 2018 – October 10, 2018
In the exhibition Mapping Earth, Nikkole Huss' encaustic paintings investigate if it is possible to encounter the essence of locations only experienced on a screen. As part of this mission, she digitally traveled to various National Natural Landmarks across the United States using Google Earth. These sites contain outstanding biological and geological resources that should be preserved as part of America's natural heritage for future generations. Huss' landscapes, while inspired by authentic locations, explore an imaginative interpretation of their natural beauty.
Oesterle Library Gallery is located at 320 E School Street, Naperville, IL, 60540. Gallery Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
