Chicago's Millar Brass Ensemble and Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra's Brass Choir and Youth Symphony come together for a spectacular collaborative concert. Three ensembles will perform as one in a stunning arrangement of Gabrieli's Canzona. Featuring selected repertoire by Millar, the concert also showcases EYSO's 43-member Brass Choir in a performance of John Golland's Concerto for Band. The Youth Symphony presents Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes by Benjamin Britten, and Haydn's Oboe Concerto with Young Artists Concerto Competition winner Guillermo Ulloa. At 3:30pm, join us for a free, one-hour clinic with Millar as members reflect on how Chicago-based master teacher Arnold Jacobs has shaped their thinking about mental focus, the development of which unlocks many of the joys of performing music.
