A year-long series of in-depth workshops, learning circles, and discussion groups designed to promote the exploration of pathways to impactful teaching, dedicated mentoring, engaged scholarship, and vibrant campus leadership in a small college environment. First and second year cohorts are also invited as the guests of honor to social events hosted by the Deans and other campus constituencies, which provide opportunities to expand one's own mentoring constellation through conversations with NCC's distinguished teacher-scholars. Institute topics are geared toward early-career faculty, but many events will be listed as "open" to any campus community member who has an interest. First year faculty who have received a three-credit course reassignment are required to attend and to produce an individualized plan to hone their craft of teaching and establish a scholarly agenda by the end of the academic year.
