The College's German program, Office of Ministry and Service, Cultural Events, Center for Global Education, and Modern and Classical Languages department will host a symposium, titled "Martin Luther and Germany: The 500th Anniversary of the Reformation," on Thursday, April 20. The free event will take place from 7-9 p.m. in Koten Chapel at Kiekhofer Hall, 329 E. School St. The symposium will feature two lectures and an exhibit that will be on display in the lobby of Kiekhofer Hall for several days. The first talk will be presented by Michael Lunberg, Consistorial Advisor, United Protestant Church of Berlin-Brandenburg, Germany, and is titled "500 Years of Reformation: Between Commemoration and Celebration." North Central's Professor of German and Dennis and Jean Bauman Professor in the Humanities Gregory Wolf will give the second talk, titled "Martin Luther: A Reluctant Social and Religious Revolutionary." The two scholars collaborated and developed the symposium during Wolf's 2016 D-Term course with students in Germany. The exhibit, "Here I Stand," is about Martin Luther and the Reformation.
