Professor Orit Bashkin, from the University of Chicago, takes a look back to the 1950's when newly arrived Iraqi Jewish children were placed in Israeli transit camps and, despite adverse conditions, found ways to challenge and resist the state. This lecture depicts situations all too familiar to contemporary refugee children across the globe.
