Mixing earth (soil) with paint, Madai Taylor's expressive abstract paintings explore themes of disintegration, regeneration and reproduction through an emphasis on natural forms and organic materials. Madai explains, "I think that earth has a spiritual quality of all that is human...we were all created from the earth and to the earth we shall return. That’s something everybody can identify with." The impression of spontaneity gleamed from the abstract expressionist style veils the complexity of his paintings which are rich in layers of texture and colors inherent to the earth.
