This week of mathematics activities is designed to provide middle school girls with a variety of engaging mathematical experiences focused on extending their understanding and knowledge in mathematics. The program allows talented and enthusiastic students to explore several aspects of mathematics not covered by the traditional school curriculum. Potential topics include: modular arithmetic, cryptography, voting theory, fractals, graph theory, identification numbers, bar codes, and binary code. This workshop is intended for girls entering grades 6 through 9.
