As part of a series on "Globalization: A Contested Concept," North Central College's Office of International Programs presents "Forum on Morocco After the Arab Spring I, Is the Monarchy Reforming or Tricking? A Look at the Contemporary Political Landscape in Morocco," from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, in Smith Hall of Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St. Visiting lecturer Sidi Hamza Tayebi will discuss the monarchy, political parties and the youth movement in Morocco. He will examine the arrival of the "democratic spring" and the response of the political regime by rethinking that spring movement through an analysis of the status of the independent press and the respect for human rights.
