The Hewar Trio, a world-renowned ensemble of voice, oud and clarinet, will perform an evening of traditional Syrian music from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, in the Theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St. The trio, named for the Arabic word for dialogue, will be accompanied on some pieces by a percussionist. The performance is presented by North Central College's Office of International Programs as part of a series on "Globalization: A Contested Concept."
