North Central College presents Picosa—a new chamber ensemble for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano—as featured musicians in the College's second performance of its annual Sounds of New Music Festival. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, in Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $15/adults and $5/students and faculty; call 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit northcentralcollege.edu/showtix. Picosa's music goes beyond musical genres and concert stages, embracing an eclectic range of repertoire in its unique approach to programming. Its concerts present the celebrated chamber masterworks of the ages, side-by-side with those rare finds that make each program a new discovery. With a body of repertoire that ranges from baroque to new experimental and for soloists to full ensemble, Picosa presents every work with sublime artistry and athletic virtuosity.
