Event Details:
Chicago Sinfonietta, "Primal Instincts"
Gluttony, lust, passion, grief--be ready to have your most primitive impulses triggered when you are moved by the4 first notes from the tragic tale of "Carmen" by Georges Bizet. Things heat up with a new tango-jazz inspiredf work featuring incendiary Galician bagpiper Cristina Pato before the orchestra delivers the final primordial blow with one of the most overpowering works of all time, Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana," inspired by medieval texts about the fickleness of fate and fortune.
