Rall Symposium Keynote Address by Satyan Devadoss '93
Satyan Devadoss, Ph.D., is the keynote speaker for North Central College’s 2014 Rall Symposium for Undergraduate Research held May 13. Devadoss, a 1993 graduate of North Central College, holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University and is professor of mathematics at Williams College. His talk, titled “The Shape of Nature: Bees, Trees, Origami,” will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, in Wentz Concert Hall. He will note how the study of nature serves as a bridge between art and science and will provide wonderful examples at the intersection of art, visualization and research mathematics. His keynote kicks off student oral and poster presentations during the Rall Symposium. Devadoss has earned accolades for both his scholarship and his teaching.
