DuPage County Stormwater Management and The Conservation Foundation are hosting a free Green Infrastructure Symposium on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 7:45 to 11:45 a.m. in North Central College's Harold and Eva White Activities Center, 325 E. Benton Ave. This half-day symposium will provide contractors with the information necessary to make business decisions regarding green infrastructure. With guest speakers and vendors, it will be a starting point for contractors interested in pursuing green construction. The speakers and vendors include experts in permeable pavers, porous concrete, rainwater harvesting and native plants. Following the symposium will be an optional walking tour of North Central College’s permeable walkway and rain garden project, partially funded by DuPage County Stormwater Management’s Water Quality Improvement Program grant.
