Susan Michod's new work continues her fascination with Josef Albers' idea of the "structural constellation." Like Albers, she seeks to create a visual representation for an event seen from multiple points of view. Horrified by the 2001 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Michod realized there were other perspectives to the disaster. How do you visualize disaster? How could you possibly represent horror of this magnitude? Disaster Painting Series reaches back to earlier work with
pattern and the 9/11 shroud series, where the intersection of natural and nuclear power collide to create new constellations. Schoenherr art gallery is located 171 E.
