Chicago Sinfonietta performs "Día de los Muertos"
at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 in Wentz Concert Hall
at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $54 and $42/adults, $10/children and atudents. Inspired by the Mexican holiday, Day of the Dead, and with the theatrical spectacle of the Redmoon Theater, Chicago Sinfonietta takes you on a journey filled with beautiful visual artistry. With unexpected expressions of grief and joy, you’re taken from a dark, atmospheric opening to a party-filled second half. Featuring works by Golijov, Piazzolla, Mozart, and De Falla, conductor Mei-Ann Chen leads the performance with special guest appearances by soprano Elizabeth Norman, soloist Adé Williams and the DePaul University Choir.
