Symposium for Education Alumni: Creating and Managing the Literacy Environment
Education Faculty, Alumni and Students will hold a special event at the Dr. Lora Tyson Education Curriculum Center in Oesterle Library on Saturday Oct. 26 to celebrate the rich tradition of education at NCC. This event will include an introduction to the Teacher and Leader Preparation Redesigns at NCC and the new Teacher Leader Program, as well as a variety of "poster sessions" that feature the success of Jr/Sr. Scholars, Teach First, Educational Leadership & Scholarship Offerings, the Addison Clinical Experience, and important initiatives of student organizations like SLATE, Alpha Delta Delta, Guys Who Teach and others. Our guest speaker for the morning will be Mary List from the Children's Literacy Initiative who will address, "Creating and Managing the Literacy Environment." Alumni, faculty, students, and guests are encouraged to attend. Come out and see the wonderful development of the Tyson Center for Educators, in honor of Dr. Lora Tyson. Special take aways will be ideas to bring back to your classroom, organizations you'll want to join, and institutional offerings you should not miss!
