North Central College hosts the Marie S. Curie Girl Scout Chemistry Day, an opportunity for girls ages 10 to 18 to earn a new Girl Scout fun patch in chemistry. The daylong event runs 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in North Central’s Kroehler Science Center, 40 N. Brainard St. Girls will learn about different areas of chemistry and how they impact daily life. They also will perform experiments in a laboratory and talk with women chemists about careers in chemistry. This event is sponsored by the Chicago Section of the American Chemical Society in collaboration with the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, Valparaiso University, North Central College and College of Lake County.
