North Central College presents a free screening of the documentary, “Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai,” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, in the theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31. S. Ellsworth St. The film tells the life story of Kenyan Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Wangari Maathai, Ph.D., who was internationally recognized for her persistent struggle for democracy, human rights and environmental conservation.
