Music of Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Liszt opens the DSO's March concert, which features the winner of the DuPage Symphony's 2013 Young Artists Auditions, a concerto competition open to high school students who live or attend school in DuPage and surrounding counties. The program continues with Igor Stravinsky's "Petrouchka," the second of the composer's groundbreaking ballets commissioned for Diaghilev's "Ballets Russes," which vividly recount the poignant Russian folk tale about a straw puppet that magically comes to life, develops real emotions and experiences the unhappy consequences of human behavior.
