William Shakespeare is showcased in the DuPage Symphony Orchestra's third classical concert of the season, with Hector Berlioz's stirring "King Lear Overture" at its opening and Dmitri Shostakovich's gripping "Hamlet Suite," drawn from the composer's incidental music to Kozintsev's 1963 film, at its close. For the central portion of the program, the DSO welcomes internationally acclaimed concert saxophonist Ashu--lauded both for his exceptional virtuosity and for his charismatic performance style--to perform Claude Debussy's "Rhapsodie" for alto saxophone and orchestra and Astor Piazzolla's "Two Tangos." NPR calls the soloist "Riveting . . . Brilliant . . . Pizzazz to burn!"
