North Central College's Cultural Events program and Anderson's Bookshop present author Dennis Lehane at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave.
Lehane is author of nine novels, including three made into films, "Gone Baby Gone," "Mystic River" and "Shutter Island." Lehane's new book, "Live by Night," is set in Boston and is "an epic of Prohibition-era America told through the story of a charismatic young gangster on his rise through the glitz and violence of the Roaring 20s." A limited number of free admission-only tickets are available for North Central College students, faculty, and staff. For more information contact Judy Brodhead, cultural events coordinator and associate professor of English, at jabrodhead@noctrl.edu or 630-637-5276.
