Ignacio Carillo (Mauricio Munoz) is a juglar, or a wandering singing minstrel from the northern coast of Colombia. After the death of his wife, he decides to stop playing music and return his accordion to its original owner, supposedly because it is cursed. He is followed by a local teenager (Yull Nuñez), who idolizes the juglar and wants to be just like him one day. Carillo is a man of few words, and decides to let the boy accompany him on the long journey.
