North Central College proudly presents the Canadian Brass. Since its founding in 1970 in Toronto, Canadian Brass has become an international phenomenon, recording more than 90 albums and selling out venues around the world. The musicians have a special affinity for Baroque music and have recorded works by Purcell, Vivaldi and Bach, but have also expanded their repertoire to include Latin, jazz, swing, ragtime and even American patriotic songs. The Washington Post says, "These are the men who put brass music on the map. With their unbeatable blend of virtuosity, spontaneity and humor, they brighten the rosters of concert halls, international festivals and orchestra series throughout the world." The performance begins at 2 p.m. in Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $55 and $45; call the box office at 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit www.northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.
