North Central College education alumni, faculty and students will meet for breakfast and to tell and share their stories about teaching with author/ illustrator Lisa Wilde. Wilde will also preview her graphic memoir (a work in progress) titled "Yo, Miss." Her book is based on Wilde's experiences teaching at John V. Lindsay Wildcat Academy, a second-chance public high school in New York City that serves students who have dropped out, been kicked out or flunked out of other schools. The voices of these students are rarely heard in today's education debate. "Yo, Miss" tracks eight students and the Miss during a school year and ponders the question of who will make it to graduation. To RSVP for the breakfast, email Cindy at clmak@noctrl.edu or call 630-637-5747.
