Internationally renowned Cellist Yo-Yo Ma will perform in the acoustically perfect Wentz Concert Hall. The multi-faceted career of cellist Yo-Yo Ma is a testament to his continual search for new ways to communicate with audiences, along with his personal desire for artistic growth and renewal. Whether performing new or familiar works from the cello repertoire, coming together with colleagues for chamber music or exploring cultures and musical forms outside the Western classical tradition, Ma endeavors to find connections that stimulate the imagination. Using his music as a vehicle of communication, Ma pieces together cultures from his native Chinese to the Kalahari bush people in Africa. He remains one of the best-selling recording artists in the classical field, with 75 albums and more than 15 Grammy Awards. The performance will be at 8 p.m. in Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $150 and $125; call the box office at 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit www.northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.
