North Central College presents the free screening of "The Great Match" as part of its Film Central independent film series at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, in Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St. Unrated, but suggested as PG for some language and adult references, the 90-minute film tells the adventurous story of three heroes, none of whom have ever met, but have two things in common: they all live in the farthest-flung corners of the planet and are determined to see on TV the final in Japan of the 2002 World Cup between Germany and Brazil. Directed by Gerardo Olivares, "The Great Match" was an official selection at many prestigious film festivals and was nominated for Best Picture at the Malaga Spanish Film Festival.
