Guitar Collection
Opening Reception: Friday , February 18, 2011
Fender Stratocasters and Gibson Les Pauls, along with Flying Vees, Sunbursts, Hollowbodies and other guitars from the collections of local residents Marguerite and Rich Waters and David Kelsh will be displayed Feb. 18 through April 10 in the College’s Schoenherr Art Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Kelsh is a North Central College trustee and Marguerite Waters is a former dean of admission at the College. The owners of the collections will greet visitors during an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
The opening of the exhibit coincides with a performance by Jason Vieaux, one of America’s leading classical guitarists. The performance begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, in North Central College’s Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. The Guitar Collection exhibit will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Saturdays, noon to 5 p.m. Sundays, and one hour before most performances in the Fine Arts Center.
