Matt Miller, director of the Sleepy Hollow Plays, commissioned four playwrights to write original plays for the fall production of the Sleepy Hollow Plays. Steve Amick was one such playwright. For his play, he adapted "Headless and Blue" from a pre-existing short story. Steve Amick has come to North Central to give a reading to the general student body. Steve Amick is the author of The Lake, the River & the Other Lake and NOTHING
BUT A SMILE. Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he received a BA from St.
Lawrence University and an MFA in creative writing from George Mason
University. His short stories have appeared in Playboy, The Southern Review, The
New England Review, Story, McSweeney's, in the anthology The Sound of Writing, and
on National Public Radio. On walks with his wife and young son, he often passes
the original Argus Camera building. Come to the reading from 4-6, grad dinner afterwards, and then come to opening night for the Sleepy Hollow Plays at 7:30!
