Inauguration

North Central College students and their invited guests will celebrate as the College Union Activities Board (CUAB) presents the annual Springfest celebration. Springfest features live music entertainment, games, prizes, dancing and more. Activities take place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Championship Plaza in front of Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, 455 S. Brainard St.

The College will formally dedicate the Sesquicentennial Walkway at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the south end of the of Walkway, near Schneller Hall, 147 S. Loomis St. The Sesquicentennial Walkway opened in fall 2012 and is a pedestrian thoroughfare through the heart of campus. 2013 marks the 20th anniversary of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy--a high-energy, nine-piece jazz- and swing-influenced ensemble. Their new album "Rattle Them Bones" features such songs as "Diga Diga Do," "The Jitters" and "It Only Took A Kiss."

A public fireworks display takes place at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at North Central College. Fireworks will be set off from the practice field behind the Residence Hall/Recreation Center, 440 S. Brainard St. The fireworks display can be viewed from Zimmerman Baseball Stadium located on the south end of campus.
