A panel of North Central faculty and a professional musician will talk about artists who use music as a means of protest. Faculty panelists include Stephen Maynard Caliendo who will discuss The Clash, Richard Guzman will speak about Ray Charles, and Jonathon Kirk will discuss Nina Simone. FM Supreme, a Chicago-based hip-hop artist and community activist, will perform and speak about Public Enemy.

The documentary "The Line" is about poverty in the United States and will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, in Smith Hall at Old Main. The free showing will be followed by a discussion led by North Central College alumnus Matt Gross '99, deputy director of Bread for the World. This event is part of the College's global human rights focus.
