Brookes sees the world as layers of structure and surface which have resulted in PULSE and SLANT. These two related series of works are made of frame-lie boxes constructed of wood and canvas and filled with sculptural structures and mixed media materials. This intercollegiate debate tournament is being sponsored by the Lincoln Parliamentary Debate League, an association of two year and four year schools which is dedicated to the development of debate and argumentation skill among Illinois students.
