Our objective is to raise money from willing students to donate to the Japanese Red Cross. The purpose for the donation is to support Japan's recovery from the Earthquake and subsequent tsunami that devastated the nation in March, 2011. The public is invited to a free lecture by snake researcher Dr. Zoltan Takacs, research associate/assistant professor at the University of Chicago. Dr. Takacs, recently named to National Geographic's list of "Emerging Explorers," is a herpetologist who does field and lab work on medical uses of snake venom.
